Black to White
Raising funds is a delicate business. An invitation for the fundraiser for the Kochi Muziris Biennale 2014 was to be thought through carefully. The invitation has to be classy to reflect the nature and exclusivity of the event, and also inviting enough for a donor to feel privileged to be associated with the event, as a patron of the arts. In a nutshell, it had to be elegant and subtly understated, yet persuasive.
The invitation is a combination of two cards placed one below the other. The upper card is printed on a black velvet, matt-finish paper with the title ‘Kochi Biennale Foundation’, in a spot varnish application. The white card below lists the dinner details. The corner cut was borrowed from other collaterals designed for the Biennale.
