Marigolds were the predominant theme for the wedding. Lord Vishnu and his wife Goddess Lakshmi, the ideal couple are worshipped with marigolds. It is symbolic of divine blessings for the newlywed couple for a prosperous life ahead. The invitation cards are designed in three layers. The first layer is a translucent vellum sheet with a marigold motif in the centre. This opens to reveal two cards, one for the wedding and the next for the banquet, one below the other. The wedding card features an embossed border of hand painted marigolds framing the card.
